About
Decades of adventure
BORN FROM A SHARED PASSION
We are a video game studio based in Quebec. Designing and delivering entertaining digital experiences has been our daily obsession for two decades.
The adventure began back in 2003 for the three founders in a poorly insulated Quebec City apartment. The origin of the name “Frima”, the French word for frost, testifies to their humble beginnings as they joined forces during the bitter cold of winter; working in an apartment with frosty windows. These modest beginnings did not prevent Frima from producing web games for the biggest Hollywood brands early on, such as Harry Potter and Looney Tunes.
Our game development has been driven by creative audacity since 2003, and guided by our expertise in market and data analysis since 2018.
Frima through the years
Frima creation: Foray into the world of casual gaming and multiplayer games
Acquisition of Hummagade studio specializing in cell phone games
Acquisition of Virtuel Concept studio specializing in high-level concept art and visual effects for cinema
Development of internal expertise in data analysis
Development of data-driven games for console/PC and mobile
More than just a game
As gamers ourselves, not only do we want to reinvent the player experience through our games, but also help gaming take its rightful place. We build games for today that define what will be played in the future.
